Screeching Weasel is the self-titled debut studio album by the Chicago-based punk rock band Screeching Weasel. It was originally released on vinyl with a limited pressing of 1,000 copies in September 1987 through local independent label Underdog Records and was the band's only album with bassist Vinnie Bovine, who was fired the next year. Screeching Weasel documents the group's early years as a hardcore punk band, with the music being heavily influenced by bands such as Adrenalin .

Although still influenced by hardcore punk, the album also shows hints of the band's later Ramones-inspired sound.

Records with an altered cover (different background color and had the band and album name on the front, unlike the original). Included lyric sheet (2 double-sided pages). First 200 copies came with a poster of the band bowling in the nude. First pressing consisted of 2000 copies. According to Ben Weasel, a second pressing consisted of 176 copies and was done to fill extra jackets. All non-Roadkill versions of this LP were remixed. Recorded October 8, 9, 15, and 16 at Solid Sound.

Like all different reissues of this album, this one has slightly altered cover artwork. This artwork is similar to the artwork on the 2005 CD reissue on Asian Man Records, but the text has been removed (similar to the original release on Roadkill Records). Comes in a gatefold sleeve with lyrics printed on the inner gatefold. Also comes with the same song-by-song notes from Ben and Jughead that accompanied the Asian Man CD reissue.
